Singapore Advances into the Asean Football Championship Finals

Singapore advances into the Finals of the Asean Football Championships with an aggregate 6-4 (5-4 on penalties) win over neighbours, Malaysia. The tie was decided by penalties as both teams failed to break the deadlock at 1-1, even with extra-time played. Singapore goalkeeper Lionel Lewis, turned hero as he redeemed himself from the mistake he made earlier in normal time which handed the Malaysians the unexpected lead. Lewis made the crucial penalty save that revived hopes of Singapore retaining the Cup.
